[SINGAPORE] A three-year old Singapore gaming startup has just been snagged by the creator of popular mobile game Candy Crush Saga, King, for up to US$100 million, in what is believed to be the first time a local gaming company is acquired by a global giant.
Nonstop Games, known for creating the free-to-play online strategy game, Heroes of Honour, announced the acquisition - "a huge milestone" - on its blog yesterday, saying it will help the company reach its ambition of creating global games.
King, like Nonstop Games, encourages individuality, values teams with a high level of independence, and are passionate about creating games, making it a "natural home", said the Singapore startup in its blog post.
