Even with hosts Brazil embarrassingly dumped out of the tournament, the World Cup final will still provide an electric atmosphere and a grand end to the globe's greatest sporting event. Hopefully, the on-field performances will provide as much reason to cheer and mirror, not sour, the atmosphere.

Germany and Argentina could not have made their way to the final in a more contrasting fashion - Germany cruising through via the greatest ever World Cup semi-final thrashing and Argentina stumbling in through penalties in quite possibly the most boring World Cup semi-final ever played.
