M1 mobile users hit by disruptions
Telco giving free local calls, SMS and MMS on Sunday
[SINGAPORE] Barely three weeks after the one-year anniversary of M1's massive service outage, the telco's customers got a whiff of deja vu yesterday, with intermittent service disruptions that triggered a stern response from the regulator.
According to an M1 spokesman, its customers began having trouble making voice calls at 7am yesterday, with some also unable to send and receive text messages or access mobile data intermittently.
"We immediately focused our efforts to restore services expeditiously. However, the complexity of the network required us to troubleshoot the numerous interlinked network entities. This systematic process was necessary to ensure effective restoration of services," the spokesman said.
