Myanma Airways prepares to regionalise
[SINGAPORE] From 2015, GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) - the commercial aircraft leasing and financing arm of US conglomerate GE - will lease 10 new Boeing narrow- body aircraft to Myanma Airways until 2020.
Established in 1948, Myanmar's state-owned carrier serves 26 major destinations in Myanmar from its main base at Yangon International Airport. It also flies to Gaya in India, a popular religious destination for the country's Buddhist pilgrims.
The collaboration with GE will enable Myanma Airways to develop and upgrade its fleet and expand routes into key markets in the region.
