S'pore firms' investments in US rise to nearly US$20b
Investment income up from US$720m in 2012 to US$808m
[SINGAPORE] Singapore companies injected US$1.4 billion into the US last year, raising their investments there to almost US$20 billion.
Income from their investments rose from US$720 million in 2012 to US$808 million without current- cost adjustment, according to the latest data released by the US Department of Commerce.
Among Asia-Pacific economies, only Japan, South Korea and Australia posted higher incomes than Singapore (see table). They also have bigger investments in the US.
