THE buzzword "womenomics" coined by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to describe one element of his "Abenomics" policies may have a sexy ring to it, but unfortunately for him, what it has done is draw attention to the sexist nature of male-dominated Japanese society.
He says that he wishes to make Japan a more woman-friendly society, but this high-sounding sentiment is at odds with the reality of how women are treated at the workplace in Japan, as was made glaringly obvious recently.
