Delta, Air New Zealand offer cargo charters on passenger planes; US Senate bill would give carriers US$58b in aid

About half of the world's air cargo normally travels in the bellies of passenger planes, so the cancellation of passenger flights has led to a sharp reduction in cargo capacity.


DELTA Air Lines and Air New Zealand said they would offer cargo charter services on passenger planes to boost revenue as the US Senate unanimously passed a bill to give its carriers US$58 billion in aid, including payroll support.
