Big car COE premium jumps more than S$3,000
CERTIFICATE of entitlement (COE) premiums were mixed in the final bidding exercise before the start of a smaller COE quota next month.
Category A - for cars below 1,600 cc and 130 hp - slipped S$516 to S$50,991 but Cat B - for cars above 1,600 cc or 130 hp - jumped S$3,409 to S$56,410.
Cat E - the open category which currently tracks Cat B - was also higher, rising S$2,140 to S$56,340.
Meanwhile, Cat C - for goods vehicles - was S$3,113 lower at S$45,589, and Cat D - for motorcycles - inched up just S$1 to S$6,354.
The COE quota for October 2016 to January 2017 will shrink 6.2 per cent to 24,234 - the second straight quarter that it has contracted.
