Changi Airport is best in Asia for 28 years running
Operator CAG says it will support airfreight partners amid uncertain conditions
[SINGAPORE] Changi Airport has won the title of Best Airport in Asia at the Asian Freight and Supply Chain Awards (AFSCA) for the 28th consecutive year.
This year, airport operator Changi Airport Group (CAG) has undertaken measures to help the air cargo sector, which is grappling with a challenging operating environment on the back of softer demand for manufacturing in China and declining exports in emerging Asian markets.
In January, CAG extended its cargo incentive scheme to March next year, providing a 50 per cent landing fee rebate to all scheduled freighter flights and up to 20 per cent in rental rebates for cargo tenants leasing CAG cargo facilities at Changi Airfreight Centre. Last week, CAG unveiled the $100 million Growth and Assistance Incentive (Gain) fund, which among other things, provides a 50 per cent parking rebate for all scheduled services for the next one year. Gain will kick off from July.
