Changi Airport's T4 carries out rehearsal as it prepares for Oct 31 launch
Ahead of Terminal 4's launch on Oct 31, airport operator Changi Airport Group (CAG) carried out a full-dress rehearsal for operations on Tuesday.
The rehearsal - which involved 1,500 airport staff, tenants and participants - included final systems checks and tests by airlines, commercial tenants, ground handling companies and other airport stakeholders. A fire evacuation exercise, as well as the transfer of assets and equipment, was also carried out, said CAG. Meanwhile, the two-storey terminal has gone through all the necessary inspections and audits by the relevant agencies, including the Singapore Civil Defence Force. Nine airlines will move into T4 progressively over a one week span, with the first arrival flight, Cathay Pacific CX659, touching down at 5.40am next Tuesday morning. Other carriers shifting there include four carriers from the AirAsia group, Cebu Pacific Air, Vietnam Airlines, Korean Air and Spring Airlines. Some 3,000 staff from the airport community will be working out of T4 in all.
