COE supply for Aug to Oct dips to 9,122 per month

SOME 9,122 certificates of entitlement (COE) will be released by the Land Transport Authority (LTA) each month over the next three months, a dip from the 10,568 monthly average in the preceding period.

LTA said in a Wednesday morning release that the COE quota for August to October this year will be 27,370. This comes up to about 9,122 per month, said LTA.

For the period from May to July, the supply was at 31,708, or 10,568 per month.

Supply in Category C, meant for commercial vehicles, will see the largest fall in supply per month. This means that it will be an average of 888 per month, down from 2,168 in the previous cycle.

Category A, for smaller cars, saw the second largest fall in supply. It will now see 3,630 COEs supplied each month, down from 3,797 previously.

Category B, for larger cars, also saw supply dip per month. It will now see 2,570 being supplied per month, down from 2,641.

Category D, which is meant for motorcycles, will see the largest increase per month. There will be 954, up from 907.

The open category, category E, will see a slight increase to 1,080 COEs supplied per month, up from 1,055.
