IN OUR "new normal" we have got used to talking about "meetings" and "conferences" when we really mean mass communication by the wizardry of the Internet.
The International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) has just held its "annual conference". I am not certain how many insurers attended, but it has certainly been prolific in terms of ideas - and press releases.
Talking on the theme Navigating Changing Climates IUMI president, Richard Turner, identified four key challenges facing marine insurers. These were the Covid-19 pandemic; the changing macro-economic and geopolitical situation; climate change and sustainability; and data and digitalisation.
