LTA seeks developers for journey planner app
THE Land Transport Authority (LTA) wants to make a journey planner mobile application that spans multiple modes of transport and is looking to work with third-party developers to build this, it said in a press release on Thursday.
The app it envisions will be able to draw on options such as buses, trains, taxis, cycling and walking to help commuters plan the best route to their destination, the LTA said.
It added that the app should let commuters do "pre-trip and on-trip" route planning, set preferences and find out the trip duration and fare.
The authority issued a "call for collaboration" (CFC) on Thursday to invite industry players to submit proposals for the app development.
It said that interested parties should submit information on their proposed multi-model journey planner to LTA by Nov 30 and the CFC exercise is expected to be concluded in the first quarter of 2016.
