Lufthansa Aug traffic up 4.5%
[BERLIN] Lufthansa said August sales increased by 4.5 per cent, helping it to fly with fuller planes and echoing other carriers' comments of positive summer trading.
Lufthansa said group-wide traffic in terms of revenue seat kilometres increased by 4.5 per cent, while its load factor rose 1.2 percentage points to 87.6 per cent.
However, pricing remained under pressure, it said and freight arm Lufthansa Cargo was unable to sell all additional capacity it offered, with volumes dropping 4.4 per cent.
