NOL seamen, sailors gather for farewell golf game
Singapore
SEVERAL dozen sailors and seamen of the past and present from Neptune Orient Lines came together for a golf game at Keppel Club last week to commemorate the end of an era with the national carrier, which has been sold to France's CMA CGM group. Organising committee chairman Ranesh Sandhu said that the event was held as a gesture to thank the erstwhile national carrier for the valuable training and meaningful careers that it had provided to seafarers at the Singapore marine hub, and to remember the good times with former colleagues. "We are sad to see the sale of our national carrier NOL," he said. "NOL for us means Never Once Late, but now it's No One Left."
