Plane tracking: Airlines to get various options
About 30 vendors likely to present potential solutions to Iata taskforce
AIRLINES will be given a number of options to consider rather than a one-size-fits-all solution, said the head of a taskforce appointed to improve global aircraft tracking in the wake of the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370.
"We will explore what options are available and what aircraft currently have onboard and see how it can be used to potentially fill this gap," said Kevin Hiatt, senior vice-president (safety and flight operations) for the International Air Transport Association (Iata).
Some 30 vendors are expected to present potential solutions to the taskforce.
