Protest by Pacific islanders at Aussie coal port

ON THE WARPATH: Hundreds of protesters from 12 South Pacific nations, in traditional canoes and kayaks, formed a blockade at the entrance of the world's largest coal port, demanding a global change to the use of coal.

HUNDREDS of protesters on Friday joined environmental activists from a dozen South Pacific countries attempting to halt shipping at the world's largest coal export terminal in eastern Australia by forming a blockade with canoes, surfboards and kayaks.
