Shipping business adjusts to winds of change
THIS year has seen more than its fair share of political and economic instability. And high level politics and economic uncertainty have often come together, notably in the US-China trade dispute.
So it is not surprising that confidence within the global shipping industry fell in the past three months to its lowest level for 21/2 years. That is according to the latest Shipping Confidence Survey from UK-based shipping adviser and accountant BDO.
However it is surprising that owners, charterers and managers were more confident than they were at the time of the previous survey in May 2019.
