SINGAPORE Airlines' (SIA) new codeshare agreement with Eurowings takes effect from Thursday, giving SIA passengers access to certain routes in Europe.

Eurowings is the Dusseldorf-based subsidiary of SIA's Star Alliance partner, Lufthansa.

The Eurowings-operated flights include Berlin, Budapest, Dresden, Hamburg, Leipzig, Manchester, Nuremberg, Prague, Vienna, Warsaw and Wroclaw (all via Dusseldorf); Edinburgh and Rome (via Munich); and Hamburg (via Manchester and Zurich).

Referring to the codeshare, SIA's senior vice-president (marketing planning), Tan Kai Ping, said: "It is in line with our commitment to expand our network and offer customers more options to meet their travel needs."
