THE Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has stepped up its surveillance and ramp inspections of Thai airlines' aircraft operations in Singapore, but has not imposed any restrictions on them thus far.
This comes as the United Nations aviation body International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) flagged safety concerns following an audit in January, which prompted China, Japan and South Korea to block Thailand-based airlines from operating charter services and launching new routes to their individual countries.
