Singapore to use smart data for maritime and port operations
Seven such modules to be rolled out from next month to January promise to improve port safety and efficiency

THE port of Singapore is among the first in the world to apply sense-making smart data to improve the efficiency and safety of its maritime and port operations.
Between next month and January, seven modules of smart-data applications will be rolled out across Singapore's maritime sector.
At the opening of the International Safety@Sea Conference in Singapore on Tuesday, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and IBM announced that they have jointly completed the pilot trial for three modules; these cover automated movement detection, infringement analytics and pilot boarding detection.
