ELECTRIC vehicle (EV) solutions provider Charge+ has launched a network of fast EV chargers in Singapore, where it aims to have at least 50 of such charging points by end-2022.

In a press statement on Thursday (Feb 17), the electric mobility unit of Sunseap Group said its "Turbo" line of fast chargers provides a direct current power rating of up to 120 kilowatts (kW) - allowing EV drivers to fully charge their vehicles in about 30 minutes.

This is considerably faster than most public fast chargers in Singapore that predominantly have a 50 kW power rating, it added.

There are presently 12 of such fast-charging points operated by Charge+ in the country.

The company intends to have another 22 ready by mid-2022, and said its new line of fast chargers form a "vital component" of its nationwide network of about 1,000 charging points located at both private and public premises.

According to the Charge+, its new line of Turbo fast chargers will represent Singapore's fastest public EV charging network.

This will be "highly complementary" to the company's regular charging stations found at residential estates and workplaces, said its chief executive Goh Chee Kiong.

"We believe that this major milestone will further boost Singapore's ongoing transition of its land transport sector to take up more EVs," commented Goh.
