System glitch causes 'flypocalypse' at Washington, New York airports

A MAJOR malfunction in the system that routes planes through 160,000 square miles of airspace centred over Washington caused airlines to delay or cancel hundreds of flights nationwide on Saturday, and some frustrated passengers won't reach their destinations until Sunday.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that it was not immediately able to determine what caused the problem.
