Typhoon forces Japan airlines to cancel more flights
Tokyo
ANA Holdings and Japan Airlines, Japan's two largest carriers, cancelled more flights on Monday as typhoon winds disrupted travel for a second week. Typhoon Vongfong prompted ANA to cancel 101 flights, affecting about 16,600 passengers, the airline said. Japan Airlines halted 49 flights on Monday and five on Tuesday, it said.
Five flights to and from Singapore and Japan were delayed on Monday and Tuesday. The affected services operated by low-cost carriers Jetstar and Scoot are to Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka. A spokesman for Changi Airport Group said the airport will continue to monitor the situation and work with the airlines to manage flight operations.
