United Airlines to launch non-stop flights from Singapore to Los Angeles starting October
The new route pips SIA's planned direct services to the west coast city and to NY from 2018

UNITED Airlines will operate direct flights from Singapore to Los Angeles from October 29 in what will be the longest flight to the United States.
Flight UA 38 will depart Changi at 11am daily, touching down at Los Angeles International (LAX) at 10.15am the same day. The return flight, UA 37, will depart LAX at 8.55pm daily, arriving in Singapore at 6.50am two days later.
Flying time for the route will take about 15 hours and 15 minutes for the eastbound flight, and 17 hours and 55 minutes for the westbound flight. With this, passengers will be able to shave up to nearly two hours off their travel time compared to United's existing service to Los Angeles via Sa…
