The move to embrace better work-life balance and flexi-work schemes needs to be top-down for it to work over the long haul. It is a big mindset change for senior leaders whose focus is on the bottom line. As long as these leaders remain unconvinced, flexi-work initiatives, however well intended and well crafted, will fizzle out down the line.
