There are attractive opportunities behind less popular stocks

But if investors prefer to stick with the developed markets, the pendulum is in Japan's favour.

    YEAR 2017 saw some of Asia's and Emerging Market's strongest equity rallies in several years. Attractive headline valuations, supportive macroeconomic conditions and improving corporate earnings fed investor sentiment. But while overall sentiment was broadly positive, huge disparities appeared between both performance (market and sector) and investment style.
