More funds making ETF allocations

ETFs now large and liquid enough, cost efficient, and offer currency-hedged exposure

INSTITUTIONS remain under-invested in exchange traded funds (ETFs) particularly in Asia. But this is expected to change, thanks to a number of trends that may pick up momentum.

Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management head of global client group (passive investment) Thorsten Michalik says that institutions are waking up to the fact that ETFs are now large and liquid enough to merit an allocation. They are also cost efficient, with management fees at a fraction of active fees.
