TAKE a proactive measure to protect yourself and your loved ones with The Business Times’ upcoming Will Writing and Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) workshop.

It was a full house at the first session on May 11, and due to popular demand, a second such session will now be held on May 25. Sign up so you can make informed decisions about your personal and financial affairs, and ensure that your wishes are respected and upheld in an unexpected situation.

One of the most common misconceptions about will writing is that it is only for the wealthy. The reality, however, is that it is a crucial document that ensures your assets are bequeathed according to your wishes.

An LPA, on the other hand, is a powerful document through which you appoint an individual to manage your affairs if you lose the mental capacity to do so yourself. It is about maintaining control over your life’s decisions, even when you are unable to make them.

The workshop will also touch on estate planning, which extends beyond drafting a will or setting up an LPA. This involves a comprehensive approach to managing your personal welfare and assets during and beyond your lifetime, ensuring that your financial goals are met and your loved ones are taken care of with minimal legal hurdles.

A seasoned team from PFP Legacy Asia, an estate planning firm specialising in providing solutions for the management, distribution and succession of their clients’ wealth and assets, will lead the three-hour workshop. Participants will emerge with not only a comprehensive plan, but also peace of mind, knowing they have taken a decisive step towards securing their and their family’s future.

Sign up now at https://btsub.sph.com.sg/willwriting. Tickets cost $30 a head for BT subscribers and $50 a head for members of the public, down from the usual fee of S$100. All participants will receive complimentary LPA Form 1 certification. Registration closes on May 24 (or earlier if sold out). The workshop will be held at 9 Temasek Blvd, Suntec Tower 2, #30-01, Singapore 038989 from 2-5 pm.
