AVIVA Investors, the global asset management arm of Aviva insurance group, is gearing up to expand its client base further into the institutional and retail markets in Asia.
Kevin Talbot, Aviva Investors chief executive (Asia-Pacific), says he aims to "externalise" the business. The group is planning to register "outcome oriented" funds in Singapore and Hong Kong, which are expected to tap savers' appetite for funds that are aligned with their long-term objectives for return and income.
Says Mr Talbot: "Since Euan Monro (Aviva Investors global chief executive) came on board, our new focus is to be global leaders in outcome oriented strategies, which are our multi-strategy funds. They are doing extremely well in performance and growth in terms of funds under management. We're looking to bring those funds to the region."
