CLIMATE change is a long-term structural crisis and is set to drive a "significant reallocation of capital", says Laurence Fink, chairman and chief executive of the world's largest asset manager BlackRock.

In his latest annual letters to shareholders and clients, Mr Fink has taken a strong stance to make sustainable investing the new standard and a "critical foundation" for BlackRock portfolios. This, he says, is part of the firm's fiduciary duty to clients.

Sustainable investing, he argues, can provide better risk-adjusted returns and hence is "the strongest foundation for client portfolios going forward".
