WORRIES over political risk in Europe are keeping investors sidelined, but Allianz Global Investors' (AGI) Holger Wehner believes Europe equities deserve a second look, particularly dividend-paying stocks.
Mr Wehner, the firm's director and head of product specialists (equity Europe), says investors should look past the "political overhangs", which are likely to persist past 2017.
This year a number of European countries including France and Germany will hold presidential elections. Next year will also see a slew of elections in the region. He said that political overhang also dogged 2016, such as the US presidential elections and Brexit.
