ASIA is the "silver lining'' among global emerging markets, said Tan Min Lan, UBS Wealth Management head of the Asia-Pacific investment office.

This is because macroeconomic fundamentals in the region have improved, and corporate earnings are benefiting from lower energy and commodity prices.

Even so, the bank has a "slight underweight'' call on the emerging markets which includes Asia, preferring the Eurozone equities instead. UBS hosted a client luncheon yesterday to present its investment outlook for the second half of the year.
