THE desire to invest sustainably is often cited as a megatrend particularly among younger millennial investors. Yet it hasn't been easy to obtain ESG (environment, social and governance) information on funds which are not positioned specifically as sustainable theme funds.
MSCI Inc, however, may well change that. Earlier this week, it launched ESG ratings for 32,000 funds and exchange traded funds (ETFs) in an effort to provide more transparency.
The information can be accessed at www.msci.com/esg-fund-ratings. The index search tool is at www.msci.com/index-profile.
