Play by fair rules

A lot of the conflict we are seeing in the world today would not have happened if all participants abide by these four words

HUMAN beings are unique in the animal kingdom, in that we are able to establish trust, cooperate and collaborate for mutual benefits.

We are able to do all the above because we have developed and accepted a common set of rules that allow us to transact with strangers within our own country and outside our country. Among the rules are the sanctity of private property, binding and enforceable commercial agreements, agreements reached on the basis of willing buyer and willing seller and generally a fair exchange.

The human species has progressed by leaps and bounds after the second World War, and especially since the early 1990s, due primarily to more and more countries coming to accept this set of rules and joining the global market place. There's no denying that the US is the leader, having set the rules, created the institutions, spreads the ideology, and bears a big chunk of the costs of maintaining this world order.
