Return of China's prodigals
Investing in policy-supported sectors and maintaining a strategic allocation in China equities may be a prudent approach
IN AUGUST, I discussed how China was seeking to tame its capitalist "dragon" by reversing decades of unfettered, break-neck expansion, and focusing instead on the societal benefits of common prosperity.
Among the dragons unleashed by two decades of breakneck growth were the many Chinese corporates that sought to raise capital abroad to fund development at home.
These companies are now being encouraged - or forced - to return home by delisting from foreign exchanges and re-listing in either Hong Kong or the mainland.
