RENOWN cardiologist Michael Lim toyed with being an engineer when he was a teenager, but a grandmother's death from colon cancer changed that. "In the past you couldn't cure cancer, and it was very painful. She really suffered. I felt that here you have very nice people getting sick, and we're not able to do anything about it.
