"For groups of friends, having a Secret Santa system is quite fun, and also more economical. With my girlfriends, we usually have a Christmas lunch, and do our Secret Santa gift exchanges after the meal.
I dislike the mad shopping rush towards the end of the year, so I start looking out a few weeks in advance, and if I chance across something I think my friends would like, I buy it ahead of time.
