Speedy Spider
The McLaren 650S Spider is more than just an updated 12C. By Samuel Ee
THE McLaren 650S may sometimes be described as a 12C with more power and snazzier styling but that is an oversimplification because it actually feels and sounds different.
The 650S shares the same lightweight carbon fibre monocell body as the 12C but with more dramatic front and rear ends to reflect the limited edition P1 hybrid hypercar's design language.
The side air intakes are now a single-blade design from two blades previously. But the show-stopping dihedral doors are still there, and on the 650S Spider, there is the same compact retractable hardtop roof.
