By design, it's been 20 years - and counting
NEVER mind the current drive to get people to retire at a later age. For some, being able to outlast the competition and stay in a highly competitive industry for 20 years is a feat.
In Friday's issue of Weekend magazine, we profile five design veterans who have crossed the two-decade milestone in their careers and who talk about their years in this highly competitive sector. You may well recognise names such as Chris Lee of Asylum (whose design for The Warehouse hotel in Singapore won him numerous accolades), and Pann Lim, co-founder and creative director of the off-beat branding and design agency Kinetic Singapore.
On the architecture front, we track the careers of Wallflower Architecture's Robin Tan and Cecil Chee, as well as Lim Koon Park of Park + Associates. They talk about striking it out on their own, nearly going under at one point, and how they pulled themselves out of the brink.
