This terrace house was retrofitted to address each family member's needs.
IT STARTED WITH a simple request. A family of four wanted to add an extra bedroom to their two-storey terrace house, to accommodate the owner's mother who was going to live with them. But one thing led to another, and the result was a brand new home, designed with everybody's needs in mind.
Taking on the task of retrofitting the 15-year-old property off Yio Chu Kang Road was Priscilla Khiu, creative director at Haus Atelier. "We took the opportunity to improve the layout of the house and to add in new features, so that everyone at home now has their favourite spots," says Ms Khiu
Taking into account the grandma's mobility needs, Ms Khiu located her room on the first floor, making it large enough for her to have her own TV corner.
