Watch Out For Christmas
Rolex lovers, here's what Santa's putting in your stocking this year
NO, VIRGINIA. THERE will be no Rolex Daytona or 'Pepsi' in your Christmas stocking this year. Not unless you have a fairy godmother who can pull some strings with Santa Claus. But, there's no reason to sulk, because there are other surprises that await. How about the new Rolex OysterPerpetual Day-Date or even the new Yacht- Master 42, perhaps?
The two are among the latest releases by the ever-coveted brand with the crown logo. The Day-Date is a dress timepiece that simply tells the time, day and date. The Yacht-Master 42, built for sailing and regattas, is a sports watch. But both are perfectly at home in formal and informal settings.
The Day-Date has a colourful past. Marilyn Monroe famously gifted John Kennedy with one on his birthday, but it was his successor Lyndon Johnson who was the first US president to be associated with it. Other famous names seen with the 'President's watch' on their wrists include Warren Buffet, Brad Pitt and, yes, Jennifer Anniston and Victoria Beckham.
