T:>WORKS - OR THE fabled arts company once known as TheatreWorks - is launching the second edition of its Festival Of Women: N.O.W. completely online. From July 15 to August 2, N.O.W will present a wide range of art exhibitions, live-streamed performances, a digitalised competition, video narratives, conversation and workshops. Unlike last year's event, all of the events can be accessed online for free - an acknowledgement of the fact that art lovers can no longer congregate to enjoy an event together.

Led again by veteran actress and festival director Noorlinah Mohamed, N.O.W. 2020 sets out to explore narratives of women from all walks of life, from vulnerable transient workers to influential power women. Ms Noorlinah says: "We wanted to celebrate the diversity of the female experience focusing on concerns that sit at the intersections of class, race, gender and highlight the structures, systems that perpetuate inequalities.

"For example, this year, we work with non-citizen migrant married women performing verbatim accounts of transnational divorce narratives, as well as the researchers who did the field work. In doing so, we ask ourselves, what is this society we live in and how can we make and hold space for others who do not fit in? Who has a voice and who gets heard? And how do those with access amplify, make, and hold space for others who may not enjoy the same privilege?"
