“AI WILL probably lead to the end of the world,” proclaimed Sam Altman. This is a bold and cataclysmic prediction, coming from the driving force behind OpenAI and its ground-breaking creation, ChatGPT.
His sentiments are broadly echoed by Geoffrey Hinton, widely considered to be the godfather of artificial intelligence (AI), who mentioned that he was concerned about the “existential risk” of what happens when AI becomes more intelligent than humans.
While the jury is still very much out on whether we are living in the end-times, it cannot be denied that AI is having a transformational impact on the way we work.
