Lazada's co-founder joins Revolut as its Asia-Pacific general manager
THE co-founder of e-commerce platform Lazada and its former chief marketing officer Charles Debonneuil has been appointed to be the Asia-Pacific general manager of Revolut.
The London-headquartered financial technology (fintech) company said in a media statement on Monday (Apr 4) that Debonneuil will focus on building its local growth teams and developing the business' growth strategy as it strives to get new users in the Asia-Pacific region on board its mobile payment platform.
He was with Lazada for 6 years since 2012 and oversaw the growth of its business in the region.
Prior to joining Revolut, Debonneuil was the president of e-commerce solutions company Intrepid Group for more than 3 years. He was responsible for growing the company to over 300 employees across Asia.
In the Asia-Pacific region, Revolut has teams across Australia, Singapore, India and Japan. Across 23 of its offices around the world, the fintech company has a total staff strength of over 3,000 people.
