StarHub increases DNS processing capacity, takes additional security measures
STARHUB has increased its domain name system (DNS) processing capacity and taken additional security measures to better avert incidents like the disruption of its home broadband network in October 2016, it said in a Singapore Exchange filing on Monday.
It was responding to the findings by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) and Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA).
Investigations have found that the disruptions were caused by a surge in legitimate DNS traffic and did not point to a distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack.
StarHub said: "We assure our customers and the regulator that we will continuously review our security posture and enhance network resilience in partnership with network and security providers."
