A toast to art and wine
Tickets sold out quickly for BT’s inaugural lifestyle experience
A group of 30 readers and subscribers of The Business Times (BT) spent a Saturday afternoon touring art galleries at Gillman Barracks while sipping on wine last month (Sep 30).
The event coincided with the Singapore Art Gallery Weekend and the attendees explored six prominent galleries – Yeo Workshop, Fost Gallery, Ota Fine Arts, Sundaram Tagore Gallery, Mizuma Gallery, and Richard Koh Fine Art – together with expert guides from Friends of the Museum.
At each gallery stop, the participants also got to sample specially selected wines from The Straits Wine Company’s portfolio of boutique wineries. The wines were thoughtfully chosen to complement the themes and elements of the artworks on display; and added an immersive element to the art experience.
“The event was a wonderful opportunity for our readers to engage with art, wine, and culture; and connect with fellow art enthusiasts in a convivial setting,” said BT membership editor, Dylan Tan, “We are encouraged by the response and full-house turnout so expect to see more of such events in the coming months.”
The tour ended with drinks and canapes, and everyone went home with a special BT gift as a token of appreciation.
“This art and wine pairing tour is the first lifestyle experience we’ve organised,” added Tan, “Together with other BT events like Mark to Market ‘Live’ and Property Outlook; as well as our by-invite-only subscribers-appreciation dinner Meet the Newsroom, we hope to engage our readers more closely.”
