China Everbright Water bags 143m yuan water treatment project in Jiangsu
CHINA Everbright Water U9E has secured a phase 1 industrial wastewater treatment project, which commands an investment of 143 million yuan (S$30.7 million), in China's Jiangsu province.
In a midday bourse filing on Monday (Dec 6), the mainboard-listed group said the first phase of the Jiangsu Changzhou Zhenglu industrial wastewater treatment project will be implemented on a rehabilitate-operate-transfer model.
It will mainly provide wastewater treatment services to industrial enterprises in the Tianning High-tech Industrial Development Zone in Changzhou City.
Its concession period of 30 years is inclusive of a 1-year construction period, and will have a designed daily industrial wastewater treatment capacity of 5,000 cubic metres (cu m) with an additional capacity of 5,000 cu m in the long term.
The project will also be equipped with a water pipeline network outside the project area with a length of about 24 kilometres.
China Everbright Water also intends to consider the actual circumstances and demands of the project, before entering into relevant agreements for expansion works in future.

The group's latest project comes after it first announced its entry into Changzhou's water market in December 2020, through a concession agreement for the second phase of the Changzhou Zhenglu wastewater treatment project.
The phase 2 project is based on a transfer-operate-transfer model with an investment of about 100 million yuan, and a designed daily wastewater treatment capacity of 20,000 cu m.
China Everbright Water said its latest secured project marks "good expansion of cooperation" between the company and People's Government of Zhenglu County.
Both the phase 2 and phase 1 projects will respectively focus on providing quality municipal wastewater and industrial wastewater treatment services, and are collectively expected to help better safeguard the local water environment, said the group.
Shares of China Everbright Water ended half a Singapore cent or 1.61 per cent lower at S$0.305 on Dec 6 , after the announcement.
