Deloitte Singapore announces new CEO

DELOITTE Singapore has appointed Shariq Barmaky as its new CEO with effect from Jun 1, the professional services company said on Thursday (Apr 20).
Barmaky, who is currently in his seventh year as Deloitte South-east Asia’s audit and assurance leader, will take the helm from Cheung Pui Yuen.
Cheung has been CEO since 2019. He will transition into the role of Deloitte South-east Asia’s reputation and risk leader after the succession.
Barmaky has over 30 years of experience in public accounting in Singapore and the UK. He sits on the boards of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority, Civil Service College and Shared Services for Charities. He is also vice-president of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants.
Barmaky will join the new leadership team under Eugene Ho, the incoming Deloitte South-east Asia CEO, at the start of the firm’s 2024 financial year.
