GHY Culture to organise Jay Chou’s Carnival World Tour concert in Bangkok
GHY Culture & Media will be the organiser of Jay Chou’s Carnival World Tour concert in Bangkok on Dec 9.
The drama and film production company completed Jay Chou’s Carnival World Tour concerts in Malaysia and Australia in the first half of the year, and announced its investments in a series of concerts in China in August and September.
The group said on Monday (Oct 2) that it has been granted the rights by Sure Legend International to undertake the production of concerts for Jay Chou across many Asia-Pacific countries, either on a long-term basis or without any expiry date.
This includes production rights in Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand, Japan and China, excluding Hong Kong and Macau.
Jay Chou’s manager Yang Jun Rong, a non-executive director of Sure Legend International, owns a 45 per cent stake in the company.
GHY pointed out that organising Jay Chou’s Carnival World Tour Bangkok concert is part of the group’s strategy to harness market opportunities and expand its business presence across Asia, given the revival of momentum in the live performance industry.

The concert is not expected to have any material impact on the earnings per share or net tangible assets per share of the company for the current financial year.
But the group expects its business operations to further normalise in the financial year, anchored by its core business in TV programmes and film production as well as concert production.
“Jay Chou’s Carnival World Tour celebrates his achievements in the music industry over the past 23 years, and we are excited to reunite with his fans in Thailand through his visually-energising Carnival World Concert,” said Guo Jingyu, executive chairman and group chief executive officer of GHY.
